We had the pleasure of presenting at the Chicago International Education Summit, hosted by the Ad Astra Research Institute, on June 5th, 2026.
Members of the Lab team presented two research papers, 'The Digital Wellness Needs of First-Year Post-Secondary Students: Exploring Educational Implications' and 'Digital Wellness Across Developmental Stages: Supporting Students from Middle School to Post-Secondary,' which explored students' digital wellness needs during periods of transition.
Lab Director Dr. Jennifer Laffier and Manager Madison Westley were also invited to serve on the panel to discuss our 2025 award-winning paper on the digital wellness needs of youth in treatment and care, and the continued need to support graduate student research.
Throughout the day, we met many incredible educators from around the globe, including the United States, Jordan, Germany, Hungary, and Nigeria, to discuss student success. Thank you to all the amazing presenters and for an insightful discussion from our leadership panel, Tom Philion, Glen Browdosky, and Cynthia J. Bice!
And a shout-out to fellow Canadians from the Spirit of Math Schools Inc., who shared their helpful resources!
Thank you, Cengiz Karatas and Ad Astra, for organizing the event!
